Atlas Copco completes takeover of Scheugenpflug

Scheugenpflug AG is now part of the Swedish industrial group Atlas Copco. The closing of the purchase agreement took place on January 2.

The existing management team of the dosing technology specialist will be strengthened by Olaf Leonhardt as the new CEO. The acquisition, announced at the end of October 2019, was approved by the competition authorities. Scheugenpflug now operates within Atlas Copco's Industrial Assembly Solutions (IAS) division as a new, independent business line with a focus on electronic dispensing. Other business areas of the IAS division include "Mechanical Joining" and "Industrial Dispensing".

As the new CEO, Olaf Leonhardt from the Atlas Copco Group will strengthen Scheugenpflug's existing management team. He has more than 20 years of global leadership and management experience and brings over 25 years of expertise in the field of bonding and dispensing to the new position. After holding positions as Head of the Innovation Center and Head of Research and Development for gluing and dispensing technology, he was responsible for the business of SCA Schucker as General Manager for four years. From 2018 to 2020, he was Managing Director of Atlas Copco IAS GmbH.

As part of Atlas Copco, Scheugenpflug is strengthening its position as a provider of premium dispensing solutions with a high level of automation expertise. The global presence of the Swedish industrial group also opens up new opportunities for the dispensing technology specialist with regard to its growth targets.
