Category 4 - 3rd place: Braking through step pattern recognition

The sensor-based, self-amplifying brake module for the fully automatic stopping of loads was awarded third place by the jury. The brake module from Losyco is used for the fully automatic stopping of loads on the rail track.

The brake unit specified for manually moved trolleys and transport platforms initiates the safe, automatic stopping of the load and trolley as soon as obstacles block the travel path or manual movement is no longer possible. For this purpose, the brake module is equipped with a special sensor system with double pattern detection. Both detection methods for triggering the brakes also work with an overhanging load and automatically switch over when the direction of travel changes. At the rear, the sensors detect the step pattern when the platform is pushed manually in order to activate the brake function as soon as there is no more pushing movement. The brake is automatically released again when the platform is pushed again. At the front, sensor-based obstacle detection causes the platform to stop automatically if people or objects block the path of travel.

The module can be designed according to requirements. As a self-reinforcing system, it is not subject to any load limits and can be adapted to all transport trolleys for load transport on LOXrail rails with a shaft diameter of 25 or 40 millimetres. pb
