Motor/actuator
Integrated replacement for hydraulic cylinders
Curtiss-Wright's Industrial Division has developed a new integrated motor/actuator, the Exlar GTX100. It is the second frame size in the series; the power density and compact form factor make it a replacement for hydraulic cylinders.
The actuators in the GTX series offer the performance, precision and programmability of a servo system. The expensive and complicated maintenance of hydraulic systems and the risk of possible leaks are eliminated. With rated continuous forces up to 15,392 Newtons, speeds up to 953 millimeters per second and standard stroke lengths from 150 to 300 millimeters, the GTX100 can be used in a variety of factory automation applications.
The GTX series offers: High capacity planetary roller screws for up to 15 times longer life and higher shock load resistance than a comparable ball screw; IP65S (min.); direct integration into most motion control architectures; a removable front seal bushing that simplifies maintenance and relubrication of the main assembly, maximizing actuator life; modular design with bolt-on mounting hardware allows for effortless assembly reconfiguration or field replacement with commonly available tools; smoother, quieter operation compared to previous models. as
