Helical geared motor

The goal is a geared motor ecosystem

Bonfiglioli announces the launch of the new helical geared motor on the Evox platform. The driving force behind the development of this geared motor platform was efficiency, reliability, modularity and performance.

Thanks to an extended modularity concept, Evox represents a further step forward for Bonfiglioli's product range with solutions for a wide range of applications. The uncompromising selection of individual parts, the wide use of gear grinding processes and the special "low-noise" gearbox design are intended to make Evox a benchmark product in terms of reliability and efficiency. The first products are the CP helical geared motor in combination with the new IE3/NEMA asynchronous premium high-performance electric motors. The synergies between these two concepts create an efficient, strong, small and simple geared motor ecosystem. The helical gearboxes will initially be available in six different sizes: 55, 100, 200, 335, 500, 650 Newton meters with a motor output of between 0.12 and 15 kilowatts IE3.

The Evox platform has a simple and clear design and is suitable for any application environment that is additionally characterized by optional C3/C4 surface protection or Atex classification. The CP gearbox is also suitable for demanding applications with higher precision thanks to the reduced backlash configuration in the standard catalog. The geared motor can be used in any mounting position; thanks to the lubrication concept, CP eliminates any friction. There is no need to change the oil level or the configuration of the oil plugs. This gives users the freedom and flexibility to use the product in any position.

The geared motors will be available in both compact and IEC flange versions, allowing customers to choose between a standardized motor and a size-optimized configuration. The BXN motor, the IEC standard version, and the MXN motor, the compact version, have mostly the same configurations and options, including dynamic brakes, incremental and absolute encoders, thermal sensors and switches. The standard motor terminal box consists of a single winding with nine-pole connectors with up to eight different voltages at 50 or 60 Hertz power supply and is suitable for the EU, US, Indian and Australian markets. A further six windings cover the rest of the world.

Bonfiglioli has designed the Evox platform in such a way that condition monitoring and scheduled maintenance interventions are possible both sensor-controlled and sensorless. During the development of the CP gearmotor, a complete mathematical model was developed that relates the thermal behavior of the gearmotors to the electrical variables. This enables effective sensorless condition monitoring and scheduled maintenance interventions managed directly by the Axiavert inverters, which act as edge computers. pb
