Motors, gearboxes and encoders: Faulhaber expands Ø 16 mm portfolio
Faulhaber is expanding its drive technology portfolio with new, diameter-compliant components with Ø 16 mm. A new size of SXR motor, a motor from the new GXR family, a high-precision encoder and a matching gearbox will be presented. The products are coordinated with each other and enable combined solutions for applications with high demands on efficiency, dynamics and precision, including in industrial automation, robotics and medical technology.
Motors, gearboxes and encoders with Ø 16 mm expand the Faulhaber portfolio
New additions to the portfolio are DC motors from the GXR and SXR family. The new 1627 GXR brushed motor with copper-graphite commutation is designed for high performance and offers various equipment options. Voltage variants from 4.5 V to 24 V and different bearing configurations are available. Customer-specific adaptations are also possible, such as modifications to front and rear shafts or versions for use in vacuum or high-temperature environments. Optimized rotor balancing ensures smooth running and supports the longevity of the motor. The hexagonal winding with a high copper fill factor, optimized straight section and high-quality magnets contribute to temperature stability and overall performance.
These properties can also be found in the new size of the precious metal commutated SXR family. In addition to the 1218 and 1228 SXR sizes already available, the 1627 SXR variant is now being introduced. It is characterized by a high power/volume ratio and is intended for applications in the high-tech sector. All components in the SXR and GXR series are RoHS-compliant. The electrical connections can be implemented in different configurations.
The GXR and SXR motors can be combined with the metal planetary gearboxes of the GPT family. The diameter-compliant 16GPT, which is designed for applications with limited installation space, is a new addition. The design allows high speeds so that the entire speed range of the motor can be used. At the same time, the gearbox is designed for the transmission of high forces and larger loads.
The portfolio is complemented by the new IEX3 and IEX3 L magnetic encoders. Based on modern chip technology, the encoder offers a high resolution and a position accuracy of typically 0.3°. It supports a wide voltage range of 3.3 V for battery-powered applications as well as 5 V and is designed for a temperature range of -40 to 100 °C. The IEX3 (L) is available with or without a line driver, is compact and easy to maintain. It is designed for combination with the new SXR and GXR motors.
The coordinated components enable compact and powerful drive solutions for modern applications.
