New drive solutions for industrial automation and robotics

Faulhaber presents new products for complete solutions in drive technology: The extended SXR motor size, the powerful motor of the GXR family, the encoder and the matching gearbox offer coordinated solutions, all with a diameter of Ø 16 mm. This combination ensures high efficiency, dynamics and precision, making them suitable for high-tech industries and applications in industrial automation, robotics and medical technology.

The 1627 GXR brushed motor with copper-graphite commutation offers high performance and a wide range of equipment options to meet the requirements of modern drive solutions. It is available in flexible voltage variants from 4.5 V to 24 V and can be equipped with various bearing configurations. The motor is also customizable, with modifications to front and rear shafts and options for use in vacuum or high-temperature environments. Optimized rotor balancing ensures smooth running and contributes to longevity. The hexagonal winding with a high copper fill factor and optimized straightness as well as high-quality magnets ensure temperature stability and improved overall performance.

These features are also included in the new size of the precious metal commutated SXR family. In addition to the 1218 and 1228 SXR models already available, the 1627 SXR size is now being offered. This version offers a special power/volume ratio and is particularly suitable for applications in the high-tech sector. All components of the SXR and GXR series are RoHS-compliant, and the electrical connections offer a wide range of configuration options.

The GXR and SXR motors can be easily combined with the metal planetary gearboxes of the GPT family. The newly introduced, diameter-compliant 16GPT is particularly suitable for applications with limited installation space. The optimized design enables high speeds and full utilization of the motor's speed range. The stable design ensures the reliable transmission of high forces and the handling of larger loads.

In combination with modern chip technology, the new IEX3 magnetic encoder offers a high resolution and position accuracy of around 0.3°. The encoder is available in a wide voltage range from 3.3 V for battery-powered applications up to 5 V and covers a temperature range from -40 to 100 degrees Celsius, making it flexible and robust. The IEX3 (L) is available in variants with and without a line driver and is characterized by its compactness and ease of maintenance, making it ideal for combination with the new Faulhaber SXR and GXR motors.
