Clutch with fabric
Manufactured from hard-drawn AISI 316L wire, the elastic inserts are corrosion-resistant and suitable for use in a temperature range from minus 30 to plus 500 degrees Celsius, and even up to 600 degrees Celsius for special applications. They are therefore suitable for furnace conveyor belts and other heating systems, small hot rolling mills or oil field drilling equipment. R+W uses these couplings for its own hydraulic test benches to prevent the plastic materials normally used from becoming brittle due to the hot oil.
Capacities range from two Newton meters to a maximum acceleration torque of 1,350 Newton meters and a maximum bore diameter of 60 millimetres. For customer-specific projects, larger dimensions are also possible as an option, as the stainless steel mesh inserts can be enlarged and adapted depending on the tooling. By changing the density by compressing the wire, the stiffness can be adjusted so that the couplings meet different performance requirements. pb
