In addition to the precision universal joint shafts, which bridge distances of up to 6 m, customers can now also order important accessories for reliable torque transmission at high speeds and over long distances.

Cardan shafts without intermediate bearings can be found in machine tools, packaging and printing machines, conveyor and crane systems or in production and painting lines. In various applications, for example in lifting spindle gears or in stage construction, high speeds often have to be transmitted along the length. In order to prevent the shaft from vibrating and ultimately breaking, an intermediate bearing is recommended. The new product, a vibration-damping cardan shaft with a rigid hub on one side (EZ2 S), was developed precisely for these applications.

The design of the component also enables short assembly and disassembly times and covers torque transmission from 12.5 to 1,350 Nm as standard. Matching accessories such as intermediate bearings and intermediate shafts can be found in the product portfolio. The intermediate bearings are available in sizes 15, 20, 30, 40 and 50, while the corresponding intermediate shafts are available in three versions: without a keyway, with a keyway or with two keys.

The complete package consisting of cardan shaft, accessories and expert advice from R+W Technik enables optimum machine and system alignment. This reduces unnecessary intermediate steps in the selection and purchasing process and makes it much easier for customers.
