Weidmüller Group takes over the business of Emphatec
Weidmüller is continuing its growth strategy in the field of automation in connection technology, communication and digitalization.
With the acquisition of the team and expertise of Emphatec from Markham (Ontario), the Weidmüller Group is expanding its product portfolio in the field of PLC interfaces and migration solutions for hazardous areas.
Emphatec, the Canadian specialist for fastening technology, is expanding its product portfolio with the expertise of its team and will become a competence center for Klippon Engineering.
Emphatec and Weidmüller have been partners for many years. To consolidate this relationship and strengthen its focus on the process industry, Weidmüller has now taken over the business and resources. Emphatec specializes in custom connectivity solutions for the process industry, including hazardous areas. "It's a perfect fit - Weidmüller's global sales and marketing resources and broad product range, coupled with Emphatec's innovative products for process automation," confirms Don Robinson, previously owner of Emphatec and now head of the Klippon Engineering Center of Excellence in Canada.
Klippon Engineering was reorganized by Weidmüller in 2021 and is now responsible for the further development of the global network for engineering and service expertise for the process industry that has existed for decades. With its own sales team, application experts and affiliated production and assembly sites, product and application-specific solutions will be developed, certified and implemented in the future. "With our accumulated experience of six decades, we support our customers as a competent partner in numerous areas of the process industry. We are thus strengthening our commitment in a growth market, in line with our tradition and history, and positioning ourselves for future requirements," says Dr. Timo Berger, Chief Sales Officer of the Weidmüller Group.
