It enables Ethernet communication in hazardous areas via Profinet, Modbus TCP and EtherNet/IP. Fiber optic cables with transmission rates of 100 Mbit/s are used for data transmission in Zone 1. The fiber optic cables are designed in the "optically inherently safe" type of protection.

For Zone 2, cost-effective copper cables with type of protection "ec" are suitable for transmission distances of up to 100 m. All modules can be replaced during operation, even in potentially explosive atmospheres. The IS1+ stations can be extended without shutting down. Stahl offers a comprehensive range of I/O modules with up to 16 channels for connecting field devices in Zone 0, 1 or 2.
