Atos measurement data for Industry 4.0
Quality assurance, consisting of measurement, control and correction processes, is the most important measure for optimizing production processes in tool, model and mould making. The basis for this is, among other things, the three-dimensional digitalization of the actual states of finished and partially finished products, tools and machines.
Adaptive Machining
The use of digital 3D measurement data opens up new possibilities for Industry 4.0. The combination of full-surface coordinate measuring points and the latest CAD/CAM software has given rise to new adaptive manufacturing and repair technologies.
In adaptive manufacturing, 3D measurement data from the Atos system is already being used for the automated adaptation of individual manufacturing and repair steps (adaptive machining). CNC programs and traverse paths are calculated on the basis of the actual states so that components are manufactured to target dimensions. In the long term, the entire process control could be based entirely on 3D data. The prerequisite for this is the establishment of standardized interfaces for software and hardware.
New standards
In concepts such as PLM (Product Lifecycle Management), as much process and component information as possible is recorded in the form of PMI (Product Manufacturing Information) in order to manage and control production chains holistically and company-wide. GOM has therefore already developed interfaces for the digital transfer of inspection characteristics.
Quality features and reference systems that have been implemented in the CAD via a semantic design can be transmitted digitally and evaluated in a context-sensitive manner. The integration of standardized inspection languages such as GD&T into the GOM Inspect software is another contribution that the company is making to Industry 4.0. It is also developing new interfaces that will enable simple and robust communication between production facilities and measuring systems in the future. am
