High-performance systems rely on fast and secure data exchange. The Gen 3 components therefore offer modern interface technology with improved performance data and increased controller performance. They combine purely digital transmission techniques with fiber optic technology and intelligent, practice-oriented connection technology. In conjunction with the GBit-HSCI, Gen 3 represents a future-proof hardware platform for new functions of Heidenhain controllers.

The new drive generation offers high control quality for highly dynamic drives and short acceleration phases of spindles and axes. The Gen 3 components are also a fully diagnostics-capable system. Together with the TNCdiag software, comprehensive and reliable diagnostic functions are available. They provide information for systematic and convenient configuration of the machine during commissioning as well as for troubleshooting and fault rectification during operation.

In addition to the optimized construction and ergonomic design, the easy handling and assembly-friendly design of the components and assemblies is also an important advantage for machine builders. The Gen 3 components are compact, robust and particularly practical. As a result, they offer advantages during installation and wiring. Subsequent system expansions in the control cabinet are also easy, as the components can be arranged in any modular sequence.
