System furniture

Annina Schopen,

Workshop logistics that are fun

Morath Bohrtechnik from Albdruck in Baden sets up the production environment with system furniture from Bedrunka + Hirth. The focus is on individuality, flexibility and ergonomics.

Only those who plan cleverly in detail have a chance of overall success - according to this motto, Morath Bohrtechnik develops special drilling equipment and civil engineering methods for hard-to-reach areas or extreme slopes in order to anchor cable cars or secure tunnel constructions. The family-run company from Albdruck in Baden takes particular care and attention to detail when setting up workstations, as Thomas Amann, responsible for maintenance and training, emphasizes: "It should be fun to work here." In order to plan individually tailored and ergonomic workstations, the company has been working with Bedunka + Hirth and its specialist dealer Kessler Präzisionswerkzeuge for many years.

Perfectly thought-out details

Morath strives for a high level of vertical integration out of conviction. The company would prefer to build not only its own machines, but also everything else in-house in order to be able to provide flexible and customized solutions as quickly as possible. This is where Bedrunka + Hirth's service shows its strengths, says Amann. This is because the customer's ideas and dimensions are quickly taken on board, plans are visualized and CAD data is provided to provide a basis for decision-making. When it comes to the design of cabinet systems alone, a wide variety of options are available for putting together precisely tailored systems. "We have specific ideas," says Amann, "and don't just buy any cupboard." This starts with the appearance, which for Morath must be finished in RAL shade 5010 (gentian blue) and 7035 (light grey), and ends with the perfect drawer organization.

Morath always comes with precise specifications, confirms Armin Kessler, Managing Director of Kessler Präzisionswerkzeuge in Häusern, which sells Bedrunka + Hirth factory equipment. He is the first point of contact for Morath and, if necessary, brings Ralph Barth on board who, as a sales representative at Bedrunka + Hirth, is responsible for contract furnishings. A solution is always found in close cooperation, with Kessler emphasizing Bedrunka + Hirth's flexibility as an important prerequisite for this. It doesn't matter whether it's a complete contract furnishing project or just a few drawer pull-outs because Morath has just had to quickly build a workshop system themselves. The mutual exchange works and the cooperation takes place on an equal footing.

Mounting device with many accessories

After the new training workshop at Morath had already been set up with Bedrunka + Hirth in 2020, the assembly workshop in Albbruck was recently the focus of attention. Drawer cabinets with multi-wall superstructures and extensive hook accessories were delivered, as well as drawer cabinets with a modified front height division with cover plates. In addition, workbenches were installed as a single unit and fitted with energy channels, perforated side panels and perforated panels above the workbench. The requirement here was that they should be flexible and mobile so that employees can easily change their workstation without having to move heavy parts.

A real highlight for Thomas Amann is the equipment options for drawers in the workbenches, especially the complete inlets for individually assembled tool sets. Equipped with handles, these can also be taken from one workstation to another or hung on the multiwall near the handles in the meantime. All products are based on a modular system.

At Morath Bohrtechnik, long-standing supplier relationships are valued, emphasizes Thomas Amann. With Kessler Präzisionswerkzeuge and Bedrunka + Hirth, the company shares a love of the region and the entrepreneurial spirit that is widespread in the Black Forest. There is mutual inspiration here - down to the smallest detail. At Bedrunka + Hirth, these details also include the offer to customize cabinets and workbenches with the customer's logo.
