Worker guidance
Networked assistance system for manual assembly
Bott and Elabo demonstrated efficient processes for the digitalization of manual assembly on an Avero production line.
Networking the workstations with the existing IT infrastructure using Elabo's Elution software ensures an optimal material flow. New solutions for quality assurance via an end-of-line test ensure error-free delivery of products with a high number of variants. Elution can be used to control almost everything in digital production that is necessary for efficient work processes in manual assembly: it acts as an assistance system with work instructions for assembly, precisely controls the required tools such as screwdrivers, ensures the optimum material flow and provides all the data associated with the product.
At the supermarket, the manufacturing process begins in digital production: after the employee has identified himself with his ID card, he assembles the components according to the information on the monitor and pick-by-light. They link the ID number of the setup box with the order selected on the monitor. The software then starts the corresponding picking order. In the subsequent assembly process, the employee follows the instructions on the monitor, confirms the completed work steps and pushes the workpiece carrier from assembly station to assembly station.
The individual work steps are displayed on the monitor. They receive more or less information depending on their knowledge. Texts, images, videos and pick-by-light support the work processes. The Avero production line with worker guidance can be networked with other IT systems. Interfaces to both the ERP system and other company systems simplify the exchange and recording of data during the assembly process.
