The universal reissued

Tool milling machine. The Volz FUS 32-Servo is a universal tool milling machine of the latest generation from Volz. The new machine concept from Germany is based on the Euro-Mill FUS 32 and will be presented at the Intec.

Completely further developed and improved in detail by Volz in Germany, the tool milling machine is produced in the specially equipped production facility on the Volz company premises. The robust machine has now been given a new design and meets current customer requirements thanks to specific technical modifications. Thanks to high-quality machine components from renowned German manufacturers and the further revised machine geometry, the manufacturer has achieved outstanding stability, greater machine accuracy (DIN 8615) and reliability for modern operations.

The high stability is achieved by double stress-free annealed main components made of high-quality Meehanite cast iron with grade FC 30. They are partially ribbed several times and double-walled, which ensures high load capacity and production accuracy. A three-kilowatt motor from SEW-Eurodrive provides the machine with sufficient power even for demanding cutting tasks. The motor is directly connected to the gearbox - without belts and therefore without torque losses. With remarkable power reserves, which can be regulated by a 36-speed gearbox with up to 3,600 revolutions per minute for every type of machining, the machine is an all-rounder for all tasks in training, workshops and production, from toolmaking to mold making.

Volz only uses quality gears and high-quality ball bearings. Powerful servo direct drives, which transmit their 0.75 kilowatts in each axis via backlash-free precision ball screws, provide clear direction and stand for flexibility and intuitive feed selection. With feed rates of ten to 600 millimetres per minute and rapid traverse rates of up to 1,200 millimetres per minute, the machine is equipped for any task. It also has a "training mode", which can be used to limit the rapid traverse rates in order to master milling step by step.

The vertical milling head, which can be swiveled 90 degrees on both sides, can handle all milling tasks from face milling to chamfer milling or even drilling using the quill. A horizontal milling device with counter-holder is also installed as standard. Hardened and ground guideways with an additional special coating underline the machine's claim to resilience and durability. This also includes the correct lubrication of all important contact surfaces via a central lubrication system.

The new Volz Fus 32 servo also aims to set new standards in terms of operability. The gear stages can be set using four selector wheels located on the gearbox. Below this is an overview table that guides the operator to the required speed quickly and at a glance. The Rittal control panel is ergonomically mounted on a swivel arm for optimum accessibility and readability, even in poor lighting conditions. The heart of the control panel is the standard three-axis digital display with an easy-to-read numerical display. After a quick familiarization period, even hole circle or hole row calculations are no longer a problem. All control elements are located underneath - from the feed and spindle controllers to the axis joysticks for intuitive axis movement.

In addition, the machine is equipped with mechanical safety handwheels with scale ring for all axes. The focus is also on operator safety: the machine's standard spindle protection is monitored several times and brings the machine to a rapid standstill in the event of a safety breach. An optional table cover can also be fitted to provide protection against coolant and chips. pb
