Tailor-made packaging
The air is out here
Many online retailers still rely on conventional packaging methods and use standardized box sizes. This means that goods are often shipped in packages that are far too large or in plastic bags.
This is a waste of material as the boxes have to be stuffed with filling material. To reduce packaging material, shippers can rely on custom-fit parcels. The Dutch packaging technology provider Sparck Technologies offers suitable systems for this with its automated packaging solutions CVP Impack and CVP Everest. Goods are precisely measured using a 3D scanner and are automatically provided with suitable cartons.
The CVP Everest even produces packs with a height of just 28 mm. This saves transport volume and corrugated cardboard and ultimately optimizes vehicle utilization.
