Indexing plunger

Positioning and holding

Ruland now also offers indexing plungers for a wide range of industrial applications. Indexing plungers are spring-loaded devices for simple locking of machine elements within the scope of adjustable positioning.

The spring force presses the indexing pin of the indexing plunger into a locating hole and can remain there. This aligns or fixes two or more system elements in a specific position in relation to each other. The indexing plungers have a pull knob that partially encloses the upper area of the plunger body. This provides protection against ingress of dirt and thus ensures consistent performance and increased service life. Indexing plungers are used, for example, in industrial applications for positioning and holding tasks, in medical devices for height adjustment and in machine safety doors to prevent unintentional opening. Detent plungers are available with or without a detent lock. pb
