Harting system mounts switches fully automatically
Partnership project between Harting and Bernstein: The subsidiary Harting Applied Technologies has manufactured a production system for the production of Bernstein safety switches, which has now been handed over at the production facility in Hille-Hartum.
Harting Applied Technologies has developed a customized solution for Bernstein. The system assembles the new C14 generation of Bernstein switches in different variants fully automatically. The assembly system consists of individual modular cells that offer a high degree of flexibility and also allow certain processes to be connected in between or downstream. The quality of the switches is already 100% tested and ensured on the machine.
"This was one of the largest single orders for Harting Applied Technologies. We not only built the system, but also discussed the design of the individual parts with Bernstein at a very early stage," says Dr. Volker Franke, Managing Director of Harting Applied Technologies.
The subsidiary of the Harting Technology Group is involved in the development, design and construction of assembly systems and special machines for cross-sector industries such as the furniture, electrical and automotive industries through to medical technology. In addition to fully automated workpiece carrier and servo-based assembly systems, the focus is on manually interlinked "one-piece-flow" line concepts as well as ergonomic stand-alone systems.
"For us, the new system is another big step on the way to digitalizing our production. For Bernstein, this means consistent and increased use of digital information in order to improve product and process quality and ultimately machine efficiency," says Gisela Bernstein, Chairwoman of the Management Board, responsible for Development and Technology at Bernstein. as
