In addition to general fuse and protection functions in meter cabinets, a combined arrester for lightning current equipotential bonding and surge protection is now also available.

The surge arresters are designed for installation on 40 mm busbars in the connection compartment on the mains side. They therefore comply with the VDE-AR-N 4100-2019-04 application rule, which requires the installation of an SSL switch as a selective protective device. They protect the electronic equipment in the entire building. The type 1 and 2 combined arresters have a lightning current carrying capacity in accordance with DIN EN 0185-305 and allow lightning current surges of up to 7.5 kA for buildings without external lightning protection and 12.5 kA for buildings with external lightning protection.
