ABB has added a new software add-in to its Robot Studio simulation and offline programming software.

The add-in enables users to program robots for 3D printing in just a few minutes. The new software is part of Robot Studio's Power-Pac portfolio and eliminates the need for manual programming. Prototypes can thus be produced more quickly.

The new 3D Printing Power Pac makes it possible to "translate" standard slicer software designs into ABB 's simulation environment and robot code. This allows companies to go from CAD design to final modeling of the product in a short period of time. The software supports a wide range of applications, including welding and printing with granules or concrete.
