Producing functional prototypes

Formlabs offers an industrial selective laser sintering (SLS) benchtop 3D printer. The Fuse 1 enables new approaches to product development, hybrid manufacturing and final production.

The company will also be presenting Fuse Sift, a post-processing system for the Fuse 1, and Nylon 12, a powder material for the Fuse 1. SLS technology has long been capable of printing functional prototypes and end products. However, due to the high costs and complex workflows, it was limited to a few companies in the past. Fuse 1 and Fuse Sift reinforce the benefits of SLS and make the technology viable and attractive due to its ease of use. The Fuse 1 enables Formlabs to expand the market for industrial 3D printing while offering production-ready 3D printing to a new customer base. The printing system reduces the challenges of producing functional parts.
