3D printing software
Process optimization through simulation tools
At Formnext 2017, Materialise presented updates to its Magics 3D Print Suite, including Magics 22, the reference software for preparing data for additive manufacturing with any material, addressing demanding applications in professional 3D printing.
According to the manufacturer, users can generate metal support structures faster, pack laser-sintering platforms more densely and assemble more components on stereolithography, DLP and FDM platforms. Materialise Magics supports the 3D printing workflow regardless of the technology the user prefers. The update also includes new design features such as the honeycomb structure, which reduces weight without compromising stability, and the shelling feature, which reduces material consumption without changing the functional design. The module provides the user with a comprehensive understanding of the AM (additive manufacturing) process, improves efficiency and reduces the scrap rate during the manufacturing process. According to the manufacturer, the updates improve the integration of all products involved in 3D printing and ensure smooth transitions between technologies - from the CAD software to the printer. sw
