Fully automatic order picking

Eight major logistics and robotics companies have jointly developed a fully automated picking solution.

Comprehensive automation requires networking - and not just between the individual components. For something truly ground-breaking to emerge, the development stage must be coordinated. To this end, the companies Ecosphere Automation, EFFIMAT, Mobile Industrial Robots (MiR), Piab, robominds, ROEQ, Sick and Universal Robots (UR) have joined forces to develop a comprehensive concept for production assembly - SINA.

SINA stands for "Smart picking solution for intralogistics automation" - a solution that automates intralogistics and material handling from goods receipt to the finished kit delivered to the individual production lines and work cells just-in-time (JIT). SINA can be used in a variety of ways - as a fully automated system from warehouse lifts to workbenches.

High picking speed

For this purpose, the EffiMat central automated buffer system is equipped with two UR10e cobot arms for kitting, which ensure a high picking speed and make it possible to meet any production cycle time. The Piab Mini Cobot Gripper (MCG) with MX suction cup, in combination with the AI-based robobrain.vision system, ensures reliable pick and hit rates and uptime.

The finished kits can be buffered with EffiMat until they are needed on the production lines. When required, the fully assembled box is automatically retrieved while the UR10e starts picking the next kits at the same time. The removal at the rear of the EffiMat to the Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMR) from MiR - the SINA solution is the MiR250 model with a TR 125 Top Roller from ROEQ - ensures high delivery speed without manual work.

This overall concept offers customers many advantages. Although various systems have been put together by system integrators in the past, cooperation between manufacturers in this form is unique. In this way, interfaces can be improved and products can be optimally coordinated. For the first time, an overall concept is being presented, demonstrating what is possible in intralogistics.
