Lean Management. Professor Markus Schneider is a specialist in lean management and intralogistics. We asked him about the necessary consequences for production in light of the coronavirus crisis.

Commentary by Prof. Dr. Markus Schneider

This is because medium-sized manufacturing companies in particular can use lean measures to reduce their costs comparatively quickly and secure liquidity, thereby effectively countering the economic impact of crises.
Autonomous transport systems. Mobile robot platforms offer potential for optimizing production. The joint research project FORobotics looks at mobile, ad-hoc cooperating robot teams, sub-project 3 "Task-oriented planning" deals with the planning and control of networked and mobile production resources.

At AMB, HSi presented its solutions for the automated determination of planned times and costs as well as the creation of work schedules and, with its HSplan software, offers a technology-oriented work scheduling system for determining planned times.
