New CEO at Leoni
The Supervisory Board of Leoni AG has appointed Aldo Kamper as Chairman of the Board of Directors. The 47-year-old Dutchman, who is currently CEO of Osram Opto Semiconductors, will take office on October 1, 2018 at the latest. Discussions are currently underway regarding an earlier start date. At Leoni, Kamper will contribute his in-depth, international experience in the industrial and automotive environment and support the Group's further development into a solution provider for energy and data management.
"In Aldo Kamper, we have gained a leader for the position of CEO who is equally business and technology-oriented. Both the development into a solution provider and the automotive megatrends such as electromobility and autonomous driving require a high level of innovation, adapted processes and further optimization of the organization. I am certain that Mr. Kamper, together with the existing Board of Directors team, will successfully shape both the technological change and Leoni's forthcoming global growth," says Dr. Klaus Probst, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Leoni AG.
Aldo Kamper has been managing the business of Osram Opto Semiconductors since 2010, with a turnover of around 1.7 billion euros and more than 12,500 employees. The unit generates around half of its turnover in the automotive sector, where the company is now the market and innovation leader. In seven years under Kamper's leadership, the company has gained significant global market share and developed into the most profitable company in the LED industry. Previously, Kamper led the Specialty Lighting business at Osram Sylvania in the USA. He studied business administration in Maastricht and Trier and holds an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. kp
