3D platform

The lightness of (data) existence

One 3D model, one format standard, one platform - the ideal solution for every user and on every end device. The Lite3D platform from TechniaTranscat enables effortless collaboration across departments and companies. The special feature: the software specialists also develop customer-specific applications based on JT and Lite3D and can therefore offer their customers a customized solution.

3D as a common language: Lite3D enables all users to collaborate easily across specialist and departmental boundaries.

Three-dimensional models are door openers and boundary crossers. Exciting and easy to understand, they often open up completely new user groups inside and outside companies, such as purchasing or marketing, who would previously have struggled with CAD information. However, native CAD data is often very cumbersome due to its complexity. With Lite3D from TechniaTranscat, as the name suggests, the emphasis here is on lightness. The Lite3D platform is based on the ISO-certified JT standard 14306:2012 and provides all users with easy access to 3D data, even on mobile devices such as smartphones or tablets. JT data can be exchanged between different CAD systems without losing information such as attributes and PMIs.

Lite3D consists of various standard components: LiteBox3D, LiteComply, LiteDrop and xCompare. "Depending on requirements and needs, we can put together a package tailored to the customer from these elements," explains Arnd Feye, Lite3D Product Manager at TechniaTranscat. LiteBox3D is a JT viewer that is available either as a desktop or web-based version and forms the basis for all other applications. "There are usually around ten data users per data creator. The more powerful desktop version, either the free version or the Pro version with its extended functionality, is important for the data creator. For the data users, however, the web viewer is usually completely sufficient, as they are usually only viewers," says Feye.

In addition, there are the process solutions LiteComply, Lite3D's data quality tool, and LiteDrop, which ensures that data can be reduced and simplified. xCompare is also seamlessly integrated into the Lite3D platform: JT files are compared and changes are documented seamlessly and accurately. If these modules do not meet all customer requirements, the specialists at TechniaTranscat prove themselves to be creative experts and develop an appropriate application based on JT and Lite3D. "Our aim is to offer our customers a complete solution that fulfills exactly what is needed. With Lite3D, 3D can be used as a uniform language throughout the company - and beyond, in collaboration with suppliers and cooperation partners," says Feye.

And as a true jack-of-all-trades, it is suitable for almost all areas. "The JT format has already established itself in the automotive industry and is also gaining ground in the aerospace sector. But other industries are also making the switch. Daimler, Procter & Gamble, Lego - they all rely on JT because it is an open standard." TechniaTranscat is convinced that Lite3D therefore offers almost unlimited possibilities, regardless of company size or industry. Feye is certain: "Wherever 3D information is used, Lite3D can make collaboration faster, easier and more efficient. If it doesn't fit, we can make it fit."
