To accelerate and simplify the move to Microsoft Azure, Microsoft is partnering with Software AG. Software AG's new Cloud Migration Accelerator is based on the webMethods.io Integration platform and enables companies to connect to applications, cloud services and data more quickly and easily and thus become part of a networked ecosystem.

Cloud migrations are not trivial for IT teams, as not only do on-premise technologies have to be replaced or moved to the cloud, but it must also be ensured that ongoing business operations are not disrupted. When moving to the cloud, existing on-premise applications must be continuously connected to new cloud services, or new cloud services must be networked with other new cloud services. It is crucial for companies to manage this hybrid transition as smoothly as possible while ensuring business continuity and data access.

The cooperation partners cite Walgreens Boots Alliance as an example. Their CIO Anthony Roberts explains the solution as follows: "We recently began migrating to the cloud so that now 70% of our IT infrastructure is hosted on Microsoft Azure and 30% remains on-premises," explains Anthony Roberts, CIO, Walgreens Boots Alliance. "With Software AG's webMethods, we remain connected to existing integrated solutions and business processes as certain IT components are moved to the cloud and others remain on-premise. webMethods protects our key IT assets during the complex migration process."

Developing the "cloud of services" together

Software AG is entering into a strategic partnership with T-Systems, the business customer division of Deutsche Telekom. The aim is to add functions to the "Cloud of Things" IoT platform of Deutsche Telekom and its business customer division T-Systems in cooperation with Software AG. The partnership for "IoT made in Germany" is intended to open up the international billion-euro market for the Internet of Things. The companies also want to further expand their activities in the USA and Europe.

Sanjay Brahmawar, CEO of Software AG, on the cooperation: "This is a new kind of partnership and collaboration. We offer complete IoT solutions for the real-time economy. With Telekom as a strategic partner, we will offer the most competitive platform! Customers can easily analyze their IoT and integration issues themselves. With the insights, they can accelerate their business."

Deutsche Telekom has been using Software AG's Cumulocity IoT platform as the basis for its IoT platform for several years now and is expanding it with software components. This allows users to scale a variety of business applications. Cumulocity also enables devices and machines to be controlled remotely.
