Advanced Planning and Scheduling (APS) system

Daniel Schilling,

Flexible factory planning

Flexible and fast (re)action is required in modern production. Production planning must also pursue this goal. However, planning is often still carried out in desktop environments, which slows down the necessary flexibility. All data relevant to production and comprehensive planning functions should be available regardless of time and place.

The Advanced Planning and Scheduling (APS) system Ganttplan from Dualis can guarantee this with its service-oriented architecture. The interactive APS system is designed for modern production planning and can be used as a web version in addition to the pure desktop application. The web client makes the APS solution available on any device via a web browser. This makes it easy to plan materials, workstations, personnel, shift models and production order networks, among other things. This gives users planning security, even when working from home, for example.

In addition to visualization and reporting, automatic and manual planning functions are available to planners. All previous and new functionalities can be used in conjunction with the system as a future-proof three-layer target architecture. The planning runs can be created, edited and deleted in a clear planning menu. Compared to the desktop client, the web client enables faster display, easier navigation and online viewing of the control center on any mobile device. Graphical reports directly in the control center can be viewed easily with a mouseover. This allows you to quickly identify capacity utilization and bottlenecks.
