Feinmess Suhl has further developed its dial gauge and precision indicator tester with image processing: The new MFP 50 BV has an extended working range and is more compact thanks to a new illumination unit consisting of a camera and illumination ring.

Like its predecessor, the MFP 30 BV, the MFP 50 BV precision measuring device is also used to inspect dial gauges, precision indicators and feeler lever measuring devices as well as inductive probes, incremental length gauges and two-point internal measuring devices. It can also check special measuring equipment such as edge probes, electrical probes as well as inverse and black scales. However, with a positioning speed of two millimetres per second, the MFP 50 BV moves twice as fast as the MFP 30 BV.

As the larger test range of 50 millimetres (with the same size) means that a 100 millimetre dial gauge only needs to be moved once for testing, the test times with the MFP 50 BV are reduced by more than 50 percent compared to its predecessor.

In addition, the new dial gauge and precision indicator tester achieves the same high precision despite the longer measuring path: the positioning accuracy is less than 0.1 micrometers and can be set even more precisely if required. Compliance with the Abbe comparator principle ensures high measuring accuracy.

The new lighting unit has a camera with a higher resolution than before. Together with the higher frame rate, this stabilizes the measurement process and counteracts external sources of interference. In addition, the influence of extraneous light is reduced, which improves readability.

Automatic image processing for short test times
The MFP 50 BV camera automatically detects the analog scale and processes it further. Digital 7-segment numerical values are also recognized automatically. The Dialtest 7 test software supplied compares the detected values with the values of the reference standard in the MFP 50 BV and calculates deviations. The documentation of the measurement results and the creation of the required test certificates are also carried out automatically.

Data exchange with common test equipment management systems is guaranteed. All national and international standards are already stored or can be configured individually. With lever gauges, testing is carried out in two probing directions. In each case, it is possible to evaluate and take into account measurement uncertainties. A measuring force test can also be implemented as an option.

In addition, the MFP 50 BV is equipped with a scale made of special quartz glass with very low thermal expansion. A DC brushless motor from Faulhaber is used as the drive, which, in conjunction with a precision lead screw, ensures maximum positioning accuracy. as
