Trade fair takes place digitally in May

Contrary to plans, Sensor+Test 2021 will now take place purely digitally after all. The date in May remains unchanged.

Real, virtual and hybrid - this was the motto under which Sensor+Test 2021 in Nuremberg from 4 to 6 May was to invite participants from all over the world to an innovation dialog. Due to the ongoing critical risk situation caused by the Covid-19 pandemic and further uncertainties regarding the holding of major events, the organizer and exhibitor advisory board, together with the board of the AMA Association for Sensors and Measurement, have now decided to hold the trade fair entirely as a digital event. Sensor+Test 2021 will thus enable exhibitors and visitors to exchange information about the latest developments and technologies in sensor and measurement technology via modern information channels.

While the exchange of information via various online channels has already worked well in recent months and has been very well received, the trade fair will now significantly expand its digital possibilities from May 4 to 6, 2021 and thus become a digital event with the greatest possible benefit for visitors and exhibitors.

"Since it is currently not foreseeable whether a trade fair of our size will be allowed to take place in Nuremberg at the beginning of May, the organizer and exhibitor advisory board have agreed on a purely virtual event in close cooperation with the board of the AMA Association for Sensors and Measurement. This allows us to create planning security for everyone involved at an early stage," says Christoph Kleye, Chairman of the Exhibitor Advisory Board and Managing Director of SonoQ.

Even if the organizers, exhibitors and visitors would certainly have preferred a hybrid event, this would provide excellent opportunities to reach customers and partners for upcoming tasks. "Our mostly small and medium-sized companies will also be able to present their outstanding technologies to an interested audience this year," says Kleye.

Three days of pure technology

On the three actual days of the trade fair, visitors can expect a whole host of exciting topics along the entire measurement technology chain. In numerous parallel specialist forums, interested parties can find out about the diverse technologies and trends in the industry throughout the day. After the live or video presentations, there will be the opportunity for direct exchange and dialog with the experts. And if you have missed an important topic, you can of course watch every presentation afterwards.

In these tiered specialist forums, exhibitors will present their innovations and information to the audience in sessions of varying lengths. Visitors will have the choice of in-depth know-how or intensive, to-the-point presentations. The planned special topic "Sensors and measurement technology for condition monitoring" will not be neglected either.

The SMSI 2021 Sensor and Measurement Science International conference (May 3 to 6), which is planned to run parallel to Sensor+Test, will also focus on the virtual space. Over four days, national and international participants from research, science and industry will network in four parallel sessions.
