The 40-year-old Sonner is taking over the role of Head of Development at Scanlab and will continue the successful work of Norbert Petschik. Under his leadership, the approximately 70 employees in the development department will increasingly focus on more highly integrated scanning solutions. Sonner has extensive experience in the development of system solutions and in his new role will drive forward cross-departmental cooperation at Scanlab.

"I am delighted that we have been able to recruit Christian Sonner as our new Head of Development and member of the Executive Board. Over the past few years, I have gotten to know him as a sharp thinker, a skilled technician and an empathetic leader. With regard to the growing requirements of our customers for complex systems, he is the ideal person for the future," comments Georg Hofner, spokesman for the Scanlab management, on the appointment.

Christian Sonner has been Head of Software Development at the company since 2013. The innovative scan system controllers for precSYS and XL SCAN were developed under his leadership. After completing his degree in applied mathematics, he developed control systems for industrial robots in previous positions at Kuka, among others, and expanded the real-time software to include functions for redundant kinematics.
