Generational change in company management
At the beginning of the year, Physik Instrumente completed a long-planned generational change in the company management: Dr. Karl Spanner handed over the management of the company to his son Markus Spanner.
After 42 years as Managing Director, Dr. Karl Spanner handed over the reins to his son Markus Spanner in January.
"Our technologies have enormous potential to make our customers' applications even more successful," says Markus Spanner, the new Managing Director of Physik Instrumente (PI) since January. The 42-year-old has held management responsibility at PI for eleven years, most recently as Commercial Managing Director. "PI has great opportunities for growth, which we will exploit even more than before in the coming years."
He has established an expanded management team in order to achieve the new goals in a structured manner. He is supported by Dr. Peter Schittenhelm (COO), Dr. Markus Czanta (CTO), Stéphane Bussa (CSO) and Heiko Brehm (CFO).
Physik Instrumente, a specialist for high-precision positioning in high-tech sectors such as the semiconductor industry, life sciences, photonics and industrial automation, employs more than 1,300 people worldwide and is represented at 15 locations in Europe, North America and Asia.
