Industrial vibrometer with test software

Andreas Mühlbauer,

Complete package for acoustic process and quality control

Acoustic and vibrometric measurements for vibration analysis are a good choice for industrial quality testing, especially when production processes place high demands on product quality, manufacturing safety and cost-effectiveness.

Polytec offers sophisticated solutions for a wide range of tasks in acoustic, structural dynamics and ultrasonic measurements. However, in order to investigate the behavior of a test object, numerous measurement data must be evaluated. This is now much easier: RTE, itself a Polytec customer for many years, has adapted its own SonicTC testing software to the IVS-500 vibrometer. This means that Polytec users can now offer a modern, powerful and flexible complete package for acoustic quality and process monitoring. It can be used as a fully or semi-automated system and can be easily integrated into existing systems.

Vibrometer plus software for efficient quality testing

The IVS-500 industrial vibrometer delivers reliable, non-contact measurement results on practically all surfaces, regardless of ambient conditions and at variable working distances from a few centimetres to approx. 3 meters. An integrated auto and remote focus function always ensures high signal quality, e.g. when measuring on components of different sizes in an end-of-line test bench. As a complete solution in conjunction with the SonicTC QuickCheck or SonicTC QuickCheck PLUS testing software, the laser vibrometer can now be easily adapted to a wide range of measurement tasks.

The software is perfectly adapted for vibroacoustic quality testing with laser vibrometers, but can also process measurement data from other sensors. It records the measurement signals, evaluates them, controls the test sequence, communicates with the production control system and offers convenient configuration and evaluation options via its intuitive user interface. The PLUS version includes additional functions for in-depth industrial quality testing, such as order analysis, homomorphic transformation (cepstrum), frequency position monitoring, SQL database export and a signal generator. Hardware interfaces such as ProfiNET and Profibus are also supported.
