Force transducer
Direct measurement in the flow
In more and more applications, hydraulic or pneumatic cylinders are being replaced by electric drive technology, which is known to have advantages. However, force measurement is no longer possible simply by measuring the pressure in the hydraulic or pneumatic system.
One solution is to integrate a force transducer directly into the force flow of the application. The force measurement specialist Tecsis offers suitable force transducers for different areas of application. The F2301, F23C1 and F23S1 series are based on thin-film measurement technology and enable force measurement up to 100 kilonewtons. The integrated amplifier supplies the measured value as an analog value (four to 20 milliamperes or zero to ten volts) or digitally via a Canopen interface.
Redundant outputs are possible for safety-relevant applications. Thanks to the thin-film technology used, the transducers measure accurately - the linearity error is just 0.2 percent. For precise force measurement, it does not matter where the transducer is integrated within the force flow - directly on the motor, on the actuator or at the point where the force is applied. This gives the user flexibility in the design. Typical applications for force measurement in linear drives can be found in punches and presses, on welding guns, in grippers on robot arms or in joining presses. pb
