Steute at the SPS IPC Drives
Switchgear monitors the movement of belt conveyors
At SPS IPC Drives, Steute's Extreme division will be presenting the ZS 92 SR belt-alignment switch, which is based on the ZS 92 S emergency pull-wire switch series.
The control unit monitors the running of belt conveyors. The large stainless steel roller lever registers if the belt is running off-center, for example because it is unevenly loaded, and - depending on how it is integrated into the control system - triggers a correction of the belt run or a stop of the belt system.
According to the company, the individually adjustable switching points on the variant with staggered contacts are a new feature. The switching points of the pre-warning and switch-off can each be set within a range of five to 35 degrees. This is made possible by simply unlocking, moving and engaging the switching inserts.
Belt misalignment switches almost always work under adverse conditions. The ZS 92 SR is designed for this. Its die-cast aluminum housing has a robust design and multiple coatings (passivation, primer, powder coating). The basic position of the roller lever can be infinitely adjusted and thus adapted to the individual application.
The connection dimensions are compatible with both the predecessor model ZS 91 and other commercially available belt-alignment switches, making it easy to retrofit the new series to existing (conveyor) systems. One of the options that Steute offers for the ZS 92 SR is an LED indicator light.
The ZS 92 SR can be used in adverse ambient conditions at temperatures from minus 40 to plus 85 degrees Celsius. A variant for dust explosion hazardous areas is currently in preparation. as
