Safety on flexible production lines
The new F3SG-SR light curtain series from Omron offers finger, hand, arm, leg and body protection, from machine openings to the outside of equipment.
Manufacturers today must develop flexible production lines to meet ever-changing customer requirements and keep pace with globalization. With such complex layouts, most manufacturers rely on different types of safety light curtains for each protection application. This makes choosing the right light curtain a complicated and time-consuming task.
Omron's new F3SG-SR light curtain series offers finger, hand, arm, leg and body protection, from machine openings to the exterior of equipment, including a variety of applications and protective field heights from 160 millimeters to 2.48 meters to fully meet the required protection area. With the F3SG-SR, manufacturers are able to standardize mechanical design across production lines and simplify selection and construction. The F3SG-SR series ensures reliable detection even in harsh environments and extreme temperatures due to its specially sealed, oil-resistant structure and wide operating range.
"Installing and maintaining safety light curtains has never been easier than with the F3SG-SR series," reports Javier González, EMEA Product Marketing Manager Safety at Omron Europe. "Users can simply replace a light curtain by transferring the configuration from the old to a new version, then just plug it in and work with it. The intuitive displays on the light curtains also make it easier to fine-tune the light beams for remote sensing and help to avoid unexpected system downtime."
The F3SG-SR series is equipped with IO-Link for IoT connectivity and can collect operational data that enables predictive maintenance to determine the optimal replacement time, reduce downtime and increase safety at production sites.
Easy installation and less wiring
With the beam status displayed, a technician can easily install a light grid. Thanks to the three-color Area Beam Indicator, the technician can see the beam status remotely, reducing beam adjustment time. A variety of accessories for complex muting applications, including muting sensor mounting and reduced wiring system, reduces the amount of wiring required for line installation and maintenance.
The temperature range of up to minus 30 degrees Celsius and the IP67G with water and oil resistance ensure stable operation even under harsh conditions. In addition, the powerful optical system maintains the light intensity for a long time, ensuring reliable detection.
Quick diagnosis and fast replacement
The status displays make it easier to diagnose faults. Thanks to the built-in status management through remote monitoring, system and line maintenance can be optimized. In addition, settings saved with the intelligent tap are automatically restored after the light curtain has been replaced. This means that virtually anyone can simply replace the light curtains and restart the machine. as
