Expert Forum Security + Automation: Program available

The specialist forum "Safety + Automation" on October 8 at Motek offers the latest knowledge in the field of machine safety. In eight individual presentations, experts will talk about the latest trends in safe automation.

The program for the "Safety + Automation" expert forum at Motek has been announced: This year's forum will focus on safe human-robot collaboration and the sensor technology required for this. The presentations will also cover the legal aspects of machine safety in the factory of the future.

Klaus Löffler from Trumpf Lasertechnik will kick things off. He will talk about process safety thanks to photonic processes in the smart factory. This will be followed by Michael Moog from Pilz, with an introduction to CE conformity versus real, global requirements for machinery safety. Dr. Detlev Richter, TÜV Süd, will speak on Safety Architecture 4.0, the safe networking of machines and robots.

After the lunch break, Jochen Vetter and Andreas Kotschner from Pilz will talk about safe sensor technology for robot applications. Thomas Suchanek from Yaskawa Europe will follow up on the topic of safe human-robot collaboration with his practical presentation. This will be followed by David Korte from the University of Stuttgart with his view on safe collaboration in the automotive production of the future.

Bodo Kälble from the Employer's Liability Insurance Association for Wood and Metal will show how unnecessary tug-of-war between operators and manufacturers can be avoided when it comes to legal pitfalls in automation. Finally, Volker Sieber from Schnaithmann Maschinenbau will report on practicable Industry 4.0 solutions for SMEs.
