Benno Kathan, who worked for ifm for almost 35 years, went into well-deserved retirement at the end of April. His responsibilities for the technical management departments of the ifm process group, ifm solutions and ifm network & control group business units will be reallocated as part of this process. Dr. Volker Frey (CTO), previously Managing Director of the ifm position group business unit and member of the central Group Management Board, has been Managing Director and successor to Benno Kathan since May 1. In future, he will have overall technical responsibility for sensor technology at ifm and will not only be responsible for the ifm position group business unit, but also for the ifm process group. At the same time, Martin Buck (co-CEO) will take over the technical management of ifm solutions in addition to managing the ifm network & control group business unit.
