The new SCOPE
One year on ...
With the May 2018 issue, we at SCOPE presented ourselves in a new design. We deliberately opted for our original red color again. But it wasn't just our layout that received a visual makeover; we also adapted to the times in terms of content.
The days when every industry - be it mechanical engineering, electronics, ICT or software - cooked its own soup are over. The various branches of industry have long been interlinked. Because one thing is certain: in these fast-moving times, no one can do everything alone. Development partnerships are emerging in order to make profitable use of cross-industry synergies.
The various industry associations have also recognized this and are calling for greater interdisciplinary networking. At the Hannover Messe, they called for the various disciplines to be linked at university level, for example by making computer science a compulsory subject in mechanical engineering.
And we at SCOPE have been consistently implementing exactly what the interest groups called for at the Hannover Messe 2019 since May last year: We connect industries!
My colleague Andreas Mühlbauer, a physicist, and I, a media technology engineer, have made it our mission to bring together interesting developments in areas such as production, machining, additive manufacturing, automation, electronics, information technology and software for you. All the innovations and technologies presented are exciting for the manufacturing industry. They should help you to guide your company safely through the digital transformation with the innovative strength you are used to from mechanical engineering. How intelligent can a tool be? Which automation and software solution will increase your production volume? Which new manufacturing technologies and communication standards have a future? We at SCOPE support you in answering these essential questions - in print, online and at events!
