Monitoring of fill levels
Kanban system can be extended with place-by-light function
At the Hannover Messe, Werma Signaltechnik presented an extension for its StockSaver retrofit system, which monitors fill levels in the FIFO roller rack and automatically triggers material replenishment when required.
Sensors record the number of material containers in a shelf compartment and transmit this status to the supplied software. The view of the requirements list (digital Kanban board) signals to the material supply in good time and according to priority at which workstations material is running out.
With the new optional place-by-light function, errors during material replenishment can now also be ruled out, as the shelf compartment for loading is clearly indicated. Additional place-by-light lamps clearly indicate to the logistician in which shelf compartment the delivered material is to be placed. The system can be retrofitted to any StockSaver application.
