If all aspects of the filter are kept in mind, a powerful vacuum cleaner will be reliable in the long term. This is why Kärcher has combined features in the IVM series that are normally only considered in higher appliance classes. Moist or sticky particles often adhere to the filter and need to be removed during cleaning in the same way as normal dust. A lever on the lid of the collection container of the IVM appliances generates a strong spring-controlled impact. This removes particles more reliably than simple shaking and the filter lasts longer, which also increases the service life of the vacuum cleaner. In addition, accessories and wearing parts are very robust, which reduces maintenance work and the associated costs.

A special inlet geometry ensures that the air flow does not hit the center, but the sides. As a result, larger particles are slowed down by the container wall and fall to the floor. Less dirt reaches the filter, which protects it and the entire appliance. The filter surface has been generously designed to match the suction power of the appliances in order to comply with the recommended maximum filter surface load and thus prevent rapid clogging.

Space-saving storage of accessories

The filter cleaning system also focuses on simple, ergonomic handling for the user. There are also push handles on both sides of the appliance, making it easy to maneuver at all times. There are also handles on the suction container that can be turned to the left and right. This allows the container to be pushed into the appliance from both sides and secured there. It is also mobile, which makes handling easier, especially with heavy materials. Hose hooks and holders for nozzles are provided for space-saving storage of accessories. The small footprint takes into account the usually tight space conditions in production.

The appliances in the IVM series are available as alternating current versions for sporadic use and as three-phase current versions for continuous operation. The AC vacuum cleaners have three turbines that can be switched on in stages as required. The IVM Z22 is also suitable for use in normal or potentially explosive atmospheres in ATEX zone 22.
