Design Award for Wiha speedE electric screwdriver
The Wiha speedE electric screwdriver has already received its third award this year: The German Design Council has presented the German Design Award 2019 in gold to the new development from the hand tool manufacturer from Schonach.
According to the company, the combination of functions of the new electric screwdriver is unique in the world. First, the screwdriver can be used automatically and twice as fast as a normal screwdriver. Then the material protection function kicks in at 0.4 Nm, which is particularly advantageous for sensitive screw connections. You can then continue tightening manually. The adaptation of torque attachments allows different, controlled screwdriving applications. In combination with the safety-insulated slimBits, speedE can be used up to 1,000 V AC with complete voltage safety. The gold award winner is comparable in size, format and weight to a standard screwdriver, making it an ideal mobile companion. Thanks to its ergonomic design, users can work in an effortless and health-conscious manner.
The German Design Award sets the highest standards for determining its prize winners: in the nomination process, expert committees from the German Design Council only invite products and communication design services to take part in the competition that demonstrably stand out from the competition due to their design quality. After winning the Eisenaward 2018 at the Cologne Hardware Fair in March and the Focus Open Special Mention 2018, this international design award now crowns the speedE launch year for Wiha.
