External display
A clear view at the assembly workstation
The "Sight" screen complements the Connect screwdriving data communication center with a new generation of external displays from assembly specialist Desoutter, which visualize assembly processes and screwdriving results directly at the workstation. It also allows remote access to the Connect menu structure.
Wherever Desoutter 's Connect control center is installed far away from the assembly workstations, the external Sight display now provides the necessary overview. "Our new series of screens provides the worker with detailed, real-time information on screwdriving results and assembly progress," explains Michael Loosen, Product Manager at Desoutter in Maintal. "In addition, authorized employees can access the menu structure of the Connect via the user-friendly touchscreen." What is to be shown on the display can be defined individually. The Connect was introduced by Desoutter last year. This industrial smart hub acts as a communication center for fast and secure data transfer between WLAN cordless screwdriving tools and the user's higher-level systems.
The easy-to-install displays are available in 15" and 7" versions to suit the respective installation application and individual requirements. A module is also available that can be used to connect the user's other external screens to the Industrial Smart Hub Connect. For their part, the Sight displays are only compatible with Desoutter's Connect platform. The screens are WLAN-capable, have a LAN interface and are equipped with two to five USB ports, depending on the model.

"Key Supplier Recognition" an Desoutter
The secure documentation and transfer of all tightening data to and from the screen is ensured by Desoutter's CVI Key software: "CVI Key allows or blocks access to the parameters on the Sight display," explains Product Manager Loosen. "This reliably prevents manipulation during production."
In the near future, the displays will also feature worker guidance and will be able to show the fitter the screwdriving points on component images. According to the company, the "tool in position" status will also support the use of position monitoring. The display should thus be able to ensure that the assembly processes stored in Connect are followed exactly.
