Almer Technologies and TeamViewer cooperate

Although augmented reality (AR) is not yet established across the board in industry, it is becoming increasingly important. Almer Technologies wants to help this future technology achieve a breakthrough and will be cooperating with the global technology company TeamViewer in the future.

With the newly launched AR glasses "Arc 2" from Almer, including sophisticated software from TeamViewer, customers now benefit from a complete solution that is ready to use and easy to operate.

Team Viewer is an expert in remote support and offers the AR solution TeamViewer Frontline xAssist for inspection and maintenance, among other things. The software will also be integrated into Almer Technologies' smart glasses in the future. TeamViewer and the Swiss augmented reality specialist have entered into a strategic partnership. With its AR glasses Almer Arc 2, the company offers a new type of communication in the field of remote maintenance and customer service. This allows processes to be optimized and time and costs to be saved - simply and easily.

A unique ecosystem

"Together, we are creating a system that is unique," says Sebastian Beetschen, CEO of Almer. "Because our solution is 'enterprise-ready'. Users can deploy the glasses immediately and use them for many different purposes." Whether in assembly and production, or during inspection and maintenance - employees communicate with external experts via the integrated camera and quickly receive technical assistance. The Almer Arc 2 also provides interesting support for the logistics sector, for example in manual order picking or warehouse management. Almer and TeamViewer attach great importance to functionality and smooth use of the system. The interfaces are optimally coordinated with each other, and operation remains simple and uncomplicated.

In addition, the Almer Arc 2 is significantly lighter and more compact than comparable AR models and delivers excellent image quality. In recent months, the data glasses have been successfully tested in practice in numerous applications by industrial companies such as SFS, Oerlikon, Ypsomed and Geobrugg. "Around 80 percent of employees worldwide do not work at a desk, but in areas such as production, logistics or field service, and often benefit little from the digital transformation. Yet there is enormous potential for greater efficiency and productivity in these areas in particular, which companies can exploit with technologies such as augmented reality," says Mei Dent, Chief Product & Technology Officer at TeamViewer. "Through our joint offering with Almer, customers can accelerate the digitalization of their operational processes."

Customer convenience and an optimal customer experience are also top priorities for Almer. Should a complaint arise, for example, the glasses are replaced immediately. If Almer develops new hardware, the customer receives a free upgrade. As a result, users benefit from a complete solution that is always state-of-the-art and is continuously developed to ensure optimal adaptation to different needs.
