The advantage of the online store: Steep, trapezoidal and metric threads can be individually configured online using the spindle configurator and the service life can be calculated. In addition to three spindle materials, customers can choose from nine lubricant-free and maintenance-free nut materials for different requirements. Among them: the new highly wear-resistant Iglidur-J200 material with high efficiency.

Screw drives are responsible for adjustments - whether fast or slow. They ensure that a rotary movement is converted into a linear movement. The lubricant-free lead screws from Igus are used in retractable steps in trains and suburban trains, in 3D printers or in actuators for valves and fittings in chemical and process engineering. For these different application scenarios, the designer can choose from a wide variety of drive systems and technologies in the Igus online thread store. In addition to metric threads, there is also a choice of trapezoidal and lead screw drives. The latter can replace toothed belts or pneumatic cylinders, for example. With over 70 different screw pitches, 3 screw materials, 9 different nut materials - such as the new durable Iglidur J200 - in 10 different designs, Igus claims to offer the largest selection worldwide with more than 5,000 screw drive variants. The thread store not only has an ordering function, but also the option of determining the service life of the system in cycles using a service life calculator. The spindle configurator offers a further service. Here, the designer can simulate the spindle machining process online on both sides, create a drawing and order the spindle directly online.

Iglidur J200: Up to three times longer service life
The new spindle nuts made of Iglidur J200 have an extremely high degree of efficiency. In tests in the Igus test laboratory, the material achieved a three times longer service life on hard-anodized aluminium spindles than the Igus standard material for threaded nuts, according to the company. In combination with aluminum, the new material reduces noise, dampens vibrations and is very light. Classic applications include doors in railroad technology or aircraft as well as applications in the handling and automation sector. The threaded nuts are available from stock in a cylindrical or flanged version and can be used as steep threads or self-locking trapezoidal threads.
