Efficient cooling of die-cast components with hotspots

Demanding die-cast components, such as structural components in automotive engineering (megacastings), place special requirements on temperature control, in particular on the cooling of so-called hotspots.

Spot cooling of so-called hotspots in die casting moulds is an established process for improving the quality and mechanical properties of components with challenging geometries and optimizing cycle times. The trend towards ever larger components, mainly driven by so-called megacasts in automotive engineering, has further increased the need for spot cooling systems and raised the requirements.

The jetPulse system from Regloplas offers the right solution for every application, configuration and mold size. In addition to Regloplas' proven temperature control units and distribution systems for pressurized water and oil, the customer receives a complete temperature control solution for their die casting machine from a single source, including the software for monitoring the entire system and with local support and service worldwide.

Flexible, adapted to your needs

The Regloplas jetPulse system offers two device sizes (30 l or 100 l). Up to six multiJet distributors with 8 channels each can be connected to each appliance. These cool up to 64 individual hotspots precisely, reliably and cycle-controlled. The system is supplemented by flow monitoring of each individual channel with the Regloplas flowControl. This enables the system to detect problems in individual cooling channels at an early stage, thus avoiding costs caused by quality problems and rejects. A Profibus interface ensures simple communication between the jetPulse system and the die casting machine.

Powerful, intelligent and energy-saving

The jetPulse 100L has a frequency-controlled, multi-stage and low-noise pump with a flow rate of up to 100 l/min and a system pressure of up to 30 bar. The pump is equipped with an energy-saving function and is only active when cooling is running. The system uses intelligent technologies to monitor and control pump pressure, temperature, flow and performance. This ensures excellent stability and maximum safety during the cooling process. The intelligent process monitoring keeps the operating data
continuously under control and reports deviations from individually definable limit values before failures occur. Automatic core breakage and leakage monitoring is integrated into every jetPulse cooling cycle. This stops the system immediately if an irregularity is detected to prevent possible damage to the mold.

The individual control and parameterization of the entire system is simple and user-friendly via touchscreen on the Siemens HMI panel, with easy-to-understand graphic-supported displays and representations.

Economical overall system

The jetPulse system offers its customers a comprehensive system with sophisticated component architecture from a single source. The robust and compact devices are easy and time-saving to integrate into new or existing die casting systems and deliver greater process reliability, better and more stable product quality and shorter cycle times for demanding components with hotspots at low investment costs. As a result, jetPulse from Regloplas enables lower unit costs, high component quality and thus sustainably improves competitiveness.
