Flexible component transport in production

Stein Automation presents the Stein 400 workpiece carrier system for parts weighing up to 80 kilograms and the C5G logistics control system.

Moving heavy components gently and flexibly through production is no problem with the new Stein 400 workpiece carrier system. It is suitable for workpieces weighing up to 80 kilograms. With a powerful motor, a wide belt and clever features such as the proven Softmove, which prevents hard collisions between the workpiece carriers, the Stein 400 system transports even large components safely and gently through the production process. The flexible system allows the user to transport light and heavy parts simultaneously in mixed production, for example. Roller cassettes are installed under the belt, which ensures less wear, lower energy consumption and a clean system.

Electric version of the Stein 300

Meanwhile, the proven and modular Stein 300 workpiece carrier system is also available as Stein 300e in an electrified version; here, all pneumatic components - stoppers, transfer units and centering devices - have been replaced by electrically driven versions.

Control with Ethernet

The company also recently presented the C5G logistics control system. Its motto is "configuring instead of programming". This means that the user sets up the controller in a user-friendly way on the PC and operates it on the large display with the help of self-explanatory, interactive buttons. For even more flexibility, Stein uses an Ethernet solution for internal communication instead of the previously used fiber optic cable. Five interface slots enable communication via common fieldbus interfaces such as Profinet or Modbus TPC.
