Transport robots
Torsten with arm
Torsten from Torwegge has matured into a versatile transport robot. "We can automate more and more intralogistics processes with Torsten," says Uwe Schildheuer, Managing Director of Torwegge.
Two Torstens will be demonstrating different applications at Logimat. Both AGVs are equipped with skids and can lift pallets. In the first scenario, a vehicle picks up a robot platform with a gripper arm and transports it to one of the two roller conveyors. Here, a pick is made from the pallet lying there. Torsten then transports the picked item to the second roller conveyor and places it on the pallet. At the end, the AGV returns the platform to its original location.
The second scenario illustrates how two AGVs can work together without colliding. In this scenario, both vehicles each approach a roller conveyor and then take a pallet to the opposite lane. On the way there, their paths cross. The vehicles avoid each other and independently drive around obstacles. This is ensured by a special sensor system. The roller conveyor is also a Torwegge system. However, the company sees itself as a system integrator. "We can also integrate existing systems into a future-oriented solution," says Schildheuer. as
