Transition plates for safe transfer

Flexco's segmented transition plates are smooth components that prevent suitcases or parcels from jamming at transition points on conveyor systems. This prevents damage to luggage and the system. Operators benefit from more efficient systems and less downtime.

At airports, parcels and suitcases must be able to be transported safely on conveyor systems. However, it happens time and again that they jam at the transition points from belt to belt or to the transfer hopper and fall to the ground. Jamming can damage the belts and falling can damage the contents of the parcels. Flexco has segmented transition plates in its range for this purpose. They form a bond with a low coefficient of friction and thus create a safe transition on which the conveyed goods glide smoothly over the plate. The two variants are suitable for belts with widths of up to 1,524 and gaps of 100 to 250 and 75 to 150 millimetres respectively. Their bright yellow color makes it easier for service personnel to monitor the individual segments and replace them quickly if necessary.

Flexco has another practical solution for the safe transfer of conveyed goods in the form of the Hitch Guard. This ensures that no small objects can get stuck at the critical points of the conveyor belts and thus prevents damage to the belt. If foreign objects get stuck in the profile, individual segments detach from the axle. The other segments do not move. This ensures high operational efficiency. The segments are easy to install. If optical scanners are used in the systems, Flexco offers an optional mounting construction. Flexco will be using a model in Munich to demonstrate how the segmented transition plates and the infeed protection work on the conveyor belt. as
