SSI Schäfer joins DS Automotion
SSI Schaefer is expanding its product portfolio in the field of automated guided vehicles by entering into a cooperation with the Linz-based AGV specialist DS Automotion.
For more than 30 years, DS Automotion has specialized in the development and production of AGVs, focusing on the automotive, hospital & healthcare, agriculture and industry sectors as well as logistics 4.0 applications. The AGV specialist's range of services includes system implementations based on individual customer requirements. In addition, series vehicles are automated to complement the product range.
"With this investment, we are expanding our existing AGV portfolio, which with the Motum organization already stands for numerous implementations of 2Move or 2Store applications," says Rob Schmit, EVP Technology & Innovation at SSI Schaefer. According to the company, the new partnership will now give these competencies new impetus in terms of the variance of vehicle types, expertise in navigation technology and comprehensive project management.
"In the future, we will increasingly focus on handling specific picking and transport tasks with AGVs and further expand our solution competence in intralogistics through DS Automotion's expertise in customized device configuration," says Michael Mohr, EVP Sales at SSI Schaefer.
